A Pre-Departure Orientation will be held on June 1st. The exact location and time will be announced at a later date, so please check back on this page for more information as we approach this date.
The Pre-Departure Orientation is an important step in ensuring a successful experience in your Travel Study Program this summer. This information session will give applicants an opportunity to meet with the UC Riverside program faculty and get details about the program expectations, the selected location, and the field study excursions. Other key components to the program will be discussed, including travel, logistics, health and safety issues, lodging and meals, standards of conduct, travel insurance through a UCOP provider, and more. Students will also meet other program participants and have a chance to exchange information prior to departure. This forum is also intended to give you an opportunity to ask questions and clarify any concerns you may have about the program.
Participants will have already received a Student Information Guide in the program packet, and may feel that this information covers everything needed to prepare for departure. However, the Pre-Departure Orientation is designed to help you successfully transition in a new culture by giving you important information not covered in the Guide.
